Cross-Linked Polyethylene (XLPE) Solid Dielectric
Solid dielectric insulation technologies were developed during the latter part of the 20th century, as an alternative to paper/oil insulation for cable systems. The material used in the vast majority of high voltage cable systems with solid dielectric insulation is Crossed Linked Polyethylene, better known as XLPE. An alternative to XLPE as the insulation material is EPR, which stands for Ethylene Propylene Rubber.
EHV POWER PROVIDES THE FOLLOWING SERVICES FOR XLPE CABLE SYSTEMS:
- High voltage transmission cable system supply
- Cable pulling, cable jointing / splicing, cable terminating and testing
- Installation of sheath bonding systems
- Distributed temperature sensing systems
EHV Power can service any brand of extra high voltage XLPE cable and accessories, with or without cable manufacturer’s inspector.
